So many today are looking for the fountain of youth trying to add years to
their life by keeping death at bay. While death for many holds a terror to them, the reality here is we are not speaking of
dying; death is not physical but internal. The human body at some point eventually expires, but that in itself does not define
death, your reality cannot die, only that which gives you identification in this physical realm. Every one wants to achieve
immortality but few know where the secret lies. This is true for many for this state of being is yet to be unveiled to and
in them. There is so much said on immortality but we are not told by Paul to seek after it.
Immortality is the Greek word athanasia signifying deathlessness. We are taught
that the only deathless being in the universe is the incorruptible God dwelling in light, whom no man (Adam) has seen, nor
can see (Romans 1:23). We need to understand the invisible God was never subject to death or was ever deathful, but has the
power of an endless life. 1 Timothy 6:16 and 1 Corinthians 15:54 say, God only hath immortality and when this mortal (speaking
of us) shall have put on immortality. We must possess the victory of the resurrection life in our self. It is only by living
and functioning from the mind of Christ we escape the corruption that is in the world through lust (2 Peter 1:4). We must
become partakers of his divine nature for this guarantees our immortality.
One of the things we need to understand is that incorruptibility is not immortality,
but without incorruptibility, immortality cannot be. This tells us that incorruptibility is more than immortality. Immortality
is a deathless state where God is the all in all. Incorruptibility is the end of sin which results in death. Incorruptibility
comes as a result of the renewing of the mind, a change in our thinking, and consciousness. Incorruptibility is simply functioning
and abiding from the Christ consciousness in us. We woke up in the bondage of corruption and took on a false identity that
we are mortals separated from God. Corruption is a change of state from right thinking to a perverted state resulting in death
and separation. This state of mortality must be reversed to our original state of being by renewing of the mind to believe
what God said about us is truth, we are spirit being created in his image and likeness. When this happens we will not breathe
to live but as the father hath life in himself, so we will have the absolute life of God is us.
Paul said to be carnally minded is death; this is what it means to be corrupt.
When we have woken up to our true reality and existence, a state without sin, it is glorious to behold, death is swallowed
up in victory. Our desire and hope is to be brought to a state where sin is annulled, corruption has ceased and death is no
more. Hebrews 10:14 for by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified. Incorruptibility has regard to
the physical quality of the body. Christendom has taught us that we must die in order to inherit immortality. This deception
has held so many captive that their life is spent waiting until death to enjoy life in Christ Jesus. We have to put to death
the idea we are mortals subject to death and sin and begin to live as Christ who is our true identity. When we have experience
the reality of the life of God, we will have experience immortality, which is simply a quality of life in which disease, death
and sin cannot affect you. Then we can say like Paul, death where is thy sting and to the grave where is thy victory!
Let us begin to live and move and have our being in the resurrection life
of God where all we see is God all in all.
