I once heard the statement, if Christ return today would we recognize him? I
would like to say he did return as he promised us, yet we do not recognize him because we have not identified with him fully.
How often do we overlook the Christ in someone? To recognize Christ we must first find our identity in him and then we can
find him in the earth. It is very difficult for us to recognized Christ in the homeless, sick, destitute, and poor. Do you
feel sick, compassionate, angry or disgusted? What feelings, emotions and nature rise up within you when you are in their
presence? We need to understand that the Christ in you is meeting the Christ in them? Jesus said, When I was sick, hungry,
and in prison you visited me not and love thy neighbor as thyself. Our neighbor is an expression of our self.
These thoughts and feelings of compassion, disgust and anger is a yearning deep
within our hearts to fully know and identify with the Christ in all. Humanity is a walking reflection of love showing forth
the hope, fears, dreams and aspiration of one another. This is sometimes difficult and uncomfortable for some to look in the
face of the destitute, naked, drug addict and hungry and see you in that individual. Judging others prevent us from seeing
the Christ that lies beyond their outward appearances. The one significant thing about Jesus encounter with those he ministered
to is always he was moved with compassion for them.
We are all connected by one seed and that seed is Christ, for God has made of
one blood all mankind to dwell on the face of the earth. This verse of Scripture should remove any individualism we have when
we look at others. When we see that we are connected to each other by the life of God we see God all in all. We will accept
everyone as a son created in the image and likeness of God. Jesus said, Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God/Emmanuel
(God with us). Seeing this reality we will not be to hurry to judge any circumstance or anyone because we are all an intrinsically
woven part of the tapestry of union life, so forgiveness, love and compassion is a natural part of our life. The result of
this union is peace.
In closing let us experience the Christ who is our true reality, with all things
working for good as we understand our purpose and place in this world. Wherever we are we are a perfect extension of the father.
May the doors of our perception be pure as we minister to the Christ in all.
Namaste,
