We have experienced a flood of knowledge in this present age in
which we live. Who would have thought 30 years ago today man could communicate with each other half way around the world on
the internet? Yet today we are enjoying the wonders of such technology. Man's quest for knowledge has caused him to question
the existence of God and whether he is a created being or an evolved species. David said, "I was fearfully and wonderfully
made." Just that statement alone makes me think such knowledge is too wonderful for me, I cannot attain to it. Yet in todays
society with all the advancement in technology and the vast some of knowledge man has acquired he still does not have the
answers he seeks. The answer Paul said is in Christ.
This quest for knowledge started way back in the beginning when
man became separated in himself, and partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The knowledge he acquired from
eating of the fruit he was told not to eat gave him ruler ship over his own life. Because of this knowledge of good and evil
Adam acquired now governs the life of every man in him, and was not placed there by the father. The location of this tree
is very important, it is said to be in the midst of the garden. The garden speaks of the condition of the heart of man, and
depicts his daily life and living.
The result of eating from this tree is death. Paul said, "To be
carnally minded is death and the carnal mind is the enemy of God (Romans 8:5-6)." The tree of the knowledge of good and evil
is a realm of knowledge outside of the kingdom of God hence the duality. Many believe there are two fruits grown on this tree,
one good and the one evil, the question is how do you know which is the good from that which is evil????? The fruit of this
tree is one and not two. You can't eat the good without partaking of the evil.
It is important to note here that the tree of life is also said
to in the midst of the garden. This is deep. This tells us that life and death dwells in the very center of the heart of man.
Solomon said, "The power of life and death is in the tongue." Paul said, "we were alienated from the life of God through ignorance
(Ephesians 4:18)." I believe the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil are one and the same tree. We
need to understand that the absence of life is death. Jesus in John 17:3 said, "And this is life eternal, that they might
know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." So knowing who the father is produces life in us. Then
it is safe to say if we don't know the father then all that is produced in us is death. There is no life apart from Christ
who is the tree of life. Resident inside of every man is the source of all life and it is always open and available to him.
But there is also another tree in the midst of the garden of which God said, "The day you eat of it you will die." These two
trees are distinct from each other. It is highly impossible to eat from both trees at the same time. If we partake of the
one, access to the other is denied. You cannot partake of the life of God and of death at the same time, just as a fountain
cannot produce bitter and sweet water.
There is a popular concept sold today by which many live their
life and that is WWJD. The idea of asking oneself "What Would Jesus Do" in any situation is still partaking from the tree
of the knowledge of good and evil. When we weigh situations, between what is right and what is wrong, and what is good and
what is evil we are still partaking of death. It is still evident that the carnal mind is deciding for itself how life should
be lived. There is no good and evil in God, neither does he think in terms of good and evil, right and wrong or function in
our lives on such a basis. Such a concept he knows not.
In this knowledge system Adam thought God was holding out on him
that which would make him God; instead it brought death which caused him to see himself as a human being separated from God.
The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is the law of sin and death by which man continues to live. So many continue to
gain knowledge having the power to discern both good and evil yet still very much divided in himself, not knowing the truth
of his origin and existence. The standard or law by which we are call to live our life is the tree of life. The scriptures
tell us, "The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."
Much of our knowledge is connected to death because it is the
product of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, but Father is revealing the secret of life to us today. The secret
of life lies within every man. Paul say, "Our life is hid with Christ in God." Many are waking up from the human perspective
to their true identity, and are seeing the life of God that is available to them. A life that flows from within him, the tree
of life bearing twelve manner of fruits and yielding her fruit every month, and the leaves of the tree were for the healing
of the nations (Revelation 22:2). We are the fruits of tree of life that was planted in the earth.
Let us allow the Christ to reveal the tree of life who is our
source and identity in this world. Let us use of leaves for the healing of humanity.
