Mark 4:35-41 Jesus told his disciples, let us pass over into the other side. He wasn't speaking here of
another literal journey to the other side of the sea. The word pass here is #1330 meaning pass through, into, over, carries
the same meaning as Christ passed through the heavens. His passing over was a journey into consciousness, from one consciousness
into another, from one reality into another. The word other side comes from two words, side and way and means beyond, farther
on the other side, over. The wind from without was pushing upon them with tremendous force, shattering whatever peace they
thought they had. The possibility of reaching the other side (mind of Christ within), seem even more remote. The mind that
is at rest in it's true reality can never be moved by outward circumstances.
Luke 8:23 as they sailed he
fell asleep on a pillow, and there came down a storm of wind on the lake, and the ship were filled with water and they were
in jeopardy. This story is about us and is filled with a wealth of knowledge for us as pertaining to the workings of the father
in our lives. The ship speaks of the mind of the disciples. The pillow is the mind of Christ at rest. The other side speaks
to us of the fullness of the consciousness of God. The waves of the sea are the unfolding awareness of the Christ consciousness
in us. The wind is their thought process and reasoning. I want you to see that the king of peace (mind of Christ) is asleep
(at rest) in his kingdom (us).
The word asleep is #2518 from 2596 and means to lie down to rest (by implication) fig. daily down in place
or time, and speaks of a state of mind. The kingdom within is unchangeable, immoveable. This sleep is a place of total rest.
It is a state of mind where nothing from without can enter in and disrupt it's harmony. Luke said, they were in
jeopardy. There are no lives in jeopardy when the mind of Christ is at peace. We are anchored and established in him. There
is nothing in this world of illusions that can affect the mind of Christ in us. Verse 36 and when they had sent
away the multitude, they took him as he was in the ship. This is a powerful statement, they took him as he was signifying
the state of mind he was in, no need for him to change, he was at rest in his true identity. How do we know that is so? The
scripture say he went to sleep. He was comfortable in any situation enough to fall asleep. The kingdom within cannot be shaken
by any storm.
The disciples did not yet come to this reality. They were still seeing things from the realm of illusion,
in the world of defects they had a consciousness off. An important thought here for us is though Jesus lived in this world,
he was not a part of it. His kingdom/consciousness/dwelling was not of this world/order of thinking and illusion. The disciples
was not aware of their present reality within them. They would come to know and understand their reality (the Christ consciousness)
is actually experiencing as them and is in fact not separate from them. Verse 37 they saw the storm of wind tossing the waves
as it beat into the ship. There was such a shaking; tossing and rocking of everything they held on to. Everything that could
be shaken was shaken so that the things that could not will stand. Their thoughts were struggling with the unfolding
of the mind of Christ in them. All they saw was an illusion that robbed them of their reality.
The word beat is #1911 from 1909 meaning super imposition of time, place and order, as in relation of the
rest in direction, have charge of, to think on. They had no idea who was at the helm of their ship. They cried out master
carest thou not that we perish. They fail to understand he that is born of spirit is spirit; death and its effect cease to
be in the presence of life. They couldn't see death has no existence in their reality. Because of this thinking had
no peace and reacted out of fear, frustration and worry. We must come to an awareness of the awesomeness
and reality of who we are in Christ, that there are no powers but that which is of God. Understand beloved, all power,
all life, all love is inside of us, functioning whether we see it, feel it or believe it or not, and without there is no other
power but simply the mind of Christ at rest. We do not seek for it, beg or confess it; it simply flows out from within
us.
Therefore we do not look to any man or circumstance to provide for us. They cried out, master carest not
that we perish. We need to understand that there is not God and man. There is only God! In every situation we need to be aware
of the ever unfolding presence of the father. We are the very essence of God, possessor of all the qualities and capacities
of Christ. Our consciousness is filled with his essence; we are one with the father and
this is our true reality and state of being. Now, here is the reality, since we have been replaced, it is no longer
I but Christ that lives....how could the Christ consciousness ever sin, die, or become frustrated and disturbed? Can any of
these things happen to Almighty God? If they cannot happen to God, then it cannot happen to God manifested in the flesh (you
and I), because you and I have been replaced. I and my father are one is my reality and should be yours.
The disciples fail to see God has planted himself in the midst of them, he in us as us, and this is the
mystery that is flowing out from within, Christ in you, sufficient for every need. Here is Jesus resting, he was not toiling,
striving, seeking, and trying to evolve. He found that he was not alone, that the father is always with him. He was at rest
in that frame of mind when he went to sleep. The waves (unfolding consciousness) rolling over and over their ship (minds)
and filling them, they were afraid and struggled with their true reality that was at rest in them. They simply lack the awareness
to see, that everywhere is in God, and that the mind of Christ was at rest at the stern unfolding within them. David said, where shall I flee from they presence or go from thy spirit. Should I say where shall I flee
from myself? He that is joined to the Lord is one Spirit. The reality here for us is that nothing happens to us that does
not involve the Christ.
Since everywhere is in the father, then there is no power out there to oppose or resist him, everything
must work for us. God is light and in him is no darkness. Psalm 139:11-12 the night shall be light about me. The darkness
and the light are both alike to thee. We need dove eyes to see that the darkness and light are the same. We need to be consciously
awaken to what is new to our awareness, be aware of the new things the father is unveiling in us. Jesus showed us that the
only place we need to be is abiding in the here and now of the fathers consciousness; it is the only place to be anyway. The
disciples were filled with fear, their imaginations and thought was focused on what the natural mind could see, a world of
illusion that held no reality for them or for us. Understand that mental images and thoughts are incomplete and misleading,
and all we are doing is trying to get a clearer picture of the illusion that we see. The disciples thought it was about them.
Carest not Lord that we perish? It is God who worketh his good will and pleasure in you. It is not about us, when this
reality washes over you, it will remove all idea of individualism we have about ourself.
I once read a statement written by Echart Tolle, and I quote, Humanity is under great pressure to evolve
because it is our only chance of survival as a race (end of quote). We are not a race; we are a seed that is counted for a
generation. We are not trying to evolve into something. We already are, now are we the sons of God. We are a spirit being
that has become a reality in the flesh. When this experience has become true
for us we experience life in the spirit, and everything around us move, shift and changes. Jesus said. Let us pass over
to the other side. The disciples were experiencing a journey into the consciousness of the father, and it was unfolding as
they journeyed, but they were to involve in their world of illusion to see what was unfolding within them.
This unfolding was happening internally in the ship (their minds). The kingdom of God comes not with observation. The waves (the unfolding
of the Christ consciousness) were filling their ship, but they were caught up in the external and missed what the father was
doing. Their own reasoning and ideas brought fear as they tried to rationalized and explain the mystery in them. The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.
I want to draw this fact to your attention, that despite their fear, worry and frustration, the mind of Christ was at peace
within them. Understand that there is no difference between the other side (the fathers consciousness) and the form we use
to travel the other side.
Father gave me a beautiful illustration of this. The ship is not the waves of the sea. While we make use
of our specific ship, our consciousness which is the mind of Christ is ever unfolding. We know that it is only a mode of transport
to be exited when we arrive at our final destination. Having this understanding
we are not so attached to it that we insist on staying in the ship once we arrive at our destination, because the entire point
of the journey was to arrive on the other side. Once outside the ship and in the fathers' consciousness, the manifested Christ
is seen. Jesus clearly stated this when he said, I and my father are one. He was talking about being identified fully with
his true self; there was no longer any distinction for him, between himself and the journey of going to the other side. This is the understanding and awareness that we are coming to in time and place.
Sooner or later we cannot identify each other as Christians; God is spirit and not Christian. The disciples
was bemoaning their fate, when will we arrive? When will I be manifested to the world? When will we see the reality of the
other side? Some one once said, What lies behind us and what lies in front of
us, cannot be compared to what lies at rest within us, as us (paraphrased). This speak to us of what is spoken off the
disciples. We identify with him as us; our mind is the mind of the father functioning in us. We need to remember that I AM,
the Christ who is our true identity is always at rest and peace within us. We are a living expression of all that he is. When
we come to know this reality we have reached the other side.
Jesus told the disciples, let us pass to the other side, and where I go ye know and the way you know. This
is bigger than any one can imagine. He was simply pointing out to them their existence, reality and identity is in the father.
Religion cannot get this; the lawyers of Jesus day didn't get the whole concept of Emmanuel (God with us). I want you to see he rebuked the wind, but he spoke to the sea peace be calm. You are not your thoughts.
Jesus told Peter and the other disciples; you know not what manner of person ought you to be. The reality of Peter's identity
and existence was not made real to him yet. We read in John, the disciples asking, What manner of man is this or from what
realm or country is he from?
It is the same question that Mary asks the angel Gabriel.
What manner of salutation is this or what country or realm is such a word? In closing we cannot improve upon who we are, we
can only bear witness to it. This state of awareness where the Christ is at peace is our reality. The stern is the steering,
where the rudder is attached, so that it can be turned, causing the ships head to turn in the same direction. It is from here
(the fathers consciousness) we live and move and have our being.
I pray that you are blessed by this word.
Namaste,
